Important Church Update – April 2021
(Updated April 21 2021) A letter from Pastor Blake our next two worship services (April 25th & May 2).
Dear GCF Church,
I am so grateful to God for his grace and faithfulness to us as a church family this past year. Even through this pandemic and, more recently, the loss of one of the fathers of our church in Billy Stinson, our God has been faithful, strong, gentle, and good.
That being said, I am writing to inform you that this past Sunday, there were some exposures among our staff and in our congregation to Covid-19. We are taking this very seriously, and are following the protocols we have set in place. Those who had direct exposure have been communicated with to the best of our ability. If you attended church this past Sunday, please monitor your symptoms and reach out to your health care provider if you have any concerns.
In order to best serve our church and community, and for the health of our members, we will be postponing our in-person services for the next two Sundays (4/25 & 5/1). We will continue to host our Live Stream during our 9am service slot, and look forward to connecting with you virtually these next two weeks.
Our Virtual Marriage Night Event that was planned for this Saturday WILL STILL HAPPEN, although our watch party in the sanctuary has been canceled. Please make sure you register for the event through the app or online so we can send you the proper link to join.
If you have any questions or concerns please email us at email@example.com.
Thank you for your prayers and concern,
Pastor Blake Dameron
You can learn more about the safety precautions we are taking by reviewing our FAQ below.
I am not comfortable coming back to church in person yet. Can I still be a part of the GCF even though I will be watching church online?
YES! Of course you can. We understand that not everyone is ready to come be a part of our in person worship services. We honor you in that decision. We encourage you to join us online through our GCF Youtube Channel.
Are all life groups at GCF in person or are there some online options?
We have always believed that community is vital for our spiritual walk, so one of the first things we implemented during this season were life groups over Zoom. You can visit our life groups here and see which one of our Zoom life groups best fits your stage of life.
Will GCF be limiting capacity in the sanctuary?
Yes we are limiting capacity in our sanctuary, hallways and GCF kids classrooms to ensure social distancing. As local, state, and nation guidelines evolve we will update our seating limitations accordingly.
How is social distancing being practiced during worship services?
You will see that our seats in the sanctuary are grouped for families and individuals and are spaced apart for social distancing. We encourage every attendee to practice social distancing while not seated.
Do I need to wear a mask to church?
We are encouraging everyone to wear a mask while you are fellowshipping and coming into the building. Everyone is free to take off their mask once they are seated.
I have traveled out of the state in the past 10 days. Can I still come to church?
Yes you may still come to church. However, we encourage you to wear a mask the entire time you are in the building.
How is GCF cleaning the facility?
We thoroughly sanitize the facility between services and have a through cleaning done of the entire building every week.
Will bathrooms be open during service?
Yes restrooms are available for every attendee and they are located in the main hallway upon entering the building from the gravel parking lot.
Will GCF Kids be offered during this season of COVID-19?
Yes GCF Kids will be offered during our 9am service time. The GCF Kids team has been trained and equipped to sanitize all classrooms after the 9am service. We have also simplified our classrooms to make that process more effective. We ask that parents do not send their children to GCF Kids with snacks or sippy cups and we ask that all diaper bags be placed outside of the kids classroom doors.
Do our children need to wear a mask in GCF Kids?
No they do not. However, our GCF Kids teachers and volunteers will wear a mask at all times.
How can I continue giving?
During this time we will not be passing the offering basket around during service and we are offering a digital giving method through our GCF App and our website. However, you can still give cash or check gifts by dropping them into the offering basket located at our doors that you leave through after the service.
